Diabetic Friendly Meals

I put together diabetic friendly meals that are 500 calories or less. Meals contain approximately 45 grams of carbohydrate, while either meeting or close to meeting the American Heart Association guidelines of less than 30% of calories coming from total fat and less than 10% from saturated fat. Meals contain no more than 1 gram of trans. fat.
The American Diabetes Assoication recommends 25-30 grams of fiber per day. I noted the fiber content of meals that contain 8 gm’s or fiber more per meal, or about 1/3 of your desired fiber intake per day.
This calorie and carbohydrate level is not appropiate for everyone with diabetes. Please check with your physician before using these meals as a reference.
